Alright!
I’m actually very excited to post this, because it will be like an “at-home activity” you can do!
So…many of us have seen “angel numbers”, like 111, 222, 333 on our spiritual journey. We’ll also see “syncs” in the world around us.
I personally get ridiculous amounts of word syncs, especially when I’m super grounded in my own energy through womb or heart practices.
Word syncs happen when I’m, for example, reading a book in public and then hear someone near me say the words out loud I’m reading in real time.
Sometimes it will happen where I’m thinking the words and someone outside of me or even on the TV will say it at the same time I thought it. FREAKY!
BUT…the most wild and “important” synchronicities you will get during your spiritual journey is in the movies (and books/art/music) from your childhood! Yes it’s true!
When you go back to look at the movies you were drawn to as a kid, you’ll see that there are important messages and syncs in them.
It’s crazy when you go back and check and it’s honestly a little cookoo. Cause you realize that everything was pre-planned. It’s like…you set this all up on purpose 🤔.
You can also find these syncs in your favorite art, books and TV shows, but for this post, I’m only going to focus on movies, just to make it easy.
So…
I’m going to outline the 4 most prominent movies of my childhood:
1. The Little Mermaid
2. Pirates Of The Caribbean
3. Charlie’s Angels
4. The Nightmare Before Christmas
and how they relate back to my spiritual journey…
Tip: when it comes to choosing movies…you want to choose ones that you really liked or were drawn to as a kid and that you are still drawn to as an adult.
So if the movie came on TV today, you would absolutely want to watch it.
It might also be that the movie has followed you into adulthood in different ways. Maybe people always compare you to the main character etc…
The next thing you’ll wanna do is, think about the themes that have come up in your spiritual journey. For me its:
Mary Magdalene
From the beginning of my journey, I would receive messages about Mary Magdalene through clairaudience.
I was told to get an alabaster stone, which is what Mary’s famous jar is made of (I never knew about this before I got the message).
I have also seen her in dreams, my spirit guide showed up as a woman in white with red hair, and a year later I realized it could have been MM, I didn’t even know about her at the time of that vision. So…it’s kind of clear I am connected to her!
I am also very drawn to womb healing (which Mary Magdalene was all about) and have gained the most freedom in my spiritual journey by clearing the womb.
Blue
Another big theme in my spiritual journey is blue and being part of the blue color ray. It’s something I came to realize maybe 1.5 years after my spiritual awakening started happening.
I started to see patterns in the people who would help me on my spiritual journey and they would always have a blue aura. I was also contacted by a blue angel (AA Michael most likely) and have been visited by blue beings in different ways. For more on the blue people, click the link:
Boats/pirates/water
So… this is pretty wild…but every single guy I have dated during my spiritual journey has been connected to boats somehow…I could go on (I will explain more below) and the thing is…I’m not seeking these people out. They’re the ones who choose me first and then I usually find out way later that they are boat people! And I would say they all taught me something valuable about spiritual love and relationships.
Angels
I was contacted and healed by a blue angel about 6 months ago. I also have met a lot of people who are highly connected to angels in my journey. Specifically blue angels. For more on this experience:
So now, I’m going to break down the syncs in each movie…
1. The Little Mermaid
Why it was important to me as a kid
So… the main reason why I was drawn to “The Little Mermaid” as a kid was because of Ariel herself. I wanted to “be” her. I didn’t really know what was going on in the story, but just the idea of living underwater and being a mermaid was something I was obsessed with.
I had everything “Little Mermaid”-themed as a kid. My diary was Little Mermaid, I had a Little Mermaid beach towel, Little Mermaid lunch box, Little Mermaid tamagotchi (which my cousin stole!), I had a flounder stuffed animal, Ariel Barbie, all of it!
I also used to roller skate in my basement to the Little Mermaid soundtrack and pretend I was swimming…yeah…I did that 😬!!
In high school, I was in a Disney-themed dance performance and the girl who was playing Ariel said she couldn’t do it, so I was picked to step in, but then last minute she switched back into the role! LOL, I was like damn, I really wanted to play that role!
Why it is still important to me as an adult
I still have an obsession over “The Little Mermaid” and mermaids in general as an adult. I also found out later in life that I had a past life with Howard Ashman who wrote the lyrics for the Little Mermaid songs AND…that I had a literal past life as a mermaid.
People also always compare me to a mermaid or Ariel, because of my long, kind of wavy red hair. They say it all the time!
How “The Little Mermaid” has shown up in my spiritual journey
Ok… so when I look at the movie, there are a lot of symbols and synchronicities that have shown up in my actual spiritual journey.
The main thing I think “The Little Mermaid” was trying to tell me was that I am connected to Mary Magdalene.
What led me to this conclusion?
“The Little Mermaid” is the only Disney movie that shows a picture of Mary Magdalene:
Ariel also has red hair which is an iconic Mary Magdalene trait. Ariel also shows up in a blue dress in the end when her and Eric finally come together.
A “blue being” with red hair to me represents Mary Magdalene based on my research.
I have talked a lot about this blue woman/red + stripes patterning in movies (look at my “mythology” highlight on IG) or the end of this article OR…this video.
This blue/red+stripes relates back to the connection of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, I believe.
One other connection…
***In “The Little Mermaid”, we also have that idea of a ship captain and boats as Eric is a sailor or at least, he knows how to “operate a boat”…
Ok, onto the next one!
2. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl
Why it was important to me as a kid
So the main reason I was drawn to this movie as a kid was Jack Sparrow himself…I wasn’t really into the story, I just was in love with that character and couldn’t really explain why…
I watched the movie over and over (I think I was 10 when it first came out). Basically I was obsessed LOL and would say that the Jack Sparrow character was my very first crush from a Hollywood movie.
Why it is still important to me as an adult
I still have an obsession with pirates! I discovered throughout my journey that I had a past life as a pirate. I also wrote a screenplay about pirate seagulls which won a few competitions. I still love pirates after all these years and still like the movie, but I appreciate it more as a whole now and think the writing is just… top notch.
How “Pirates of the Caribbean” has shown up in my spiritual journey
Considering that the main reason I was drawn to the movie in the first place was the Jack Sparrow character, whatever he was doing would have been the main message.
First of all, he’s a pirate who steers a ship and like I said, all the guys who “picked me” and taught me how to be in a relationship, were either ship captains or wanted to be ship captains.
There was a guy who activated my heart chakra in Mexico, he was literally the captain of a boat as his job. Another guy worked on a boat and was more of a dark mirror of the masculine to me, another said in the future he wants to be a boat mechanic and work on boats, another had his boating license and loved water, another does whaling tours and drives a boat for it, he also had all these books on “nautical”-related stuff and how to drive a sailboat.
Literally, it’s crazy. I cannot make this up!
Two of them even sprained their ankle while they were with me. Peg leg?!
Clearly my higher self wanted me to pay attention to the Jack Sparrow character specifically and was maybe preparing me for the boat people I would meet in the future who had important messages or lessons.
3. Charlie’s Angels
Why it was important to me as a kid
I was drawn to the 2000 film “Charlie’s Angels” as a kid because I literally wanted to “be them”, similar to how I wanted to “be” Ariel. I remember me and my friends would pretend we were Charlie’s Angels as well. I watched the movie over and over.
Why it is still important to me as an adult
If you ask me nowadays what my favorite movie is, I still say “Charlie’s Angels”! I still love it, would watch it anytime, any place. I love how it flows. I think it’s super creative and fun. I think it’s actually really well written even though in reviews people said it was tacky! Favorite movie of all time. I also wrote an essay on “Charlie’s Angels” in school a couple years ago.
How Charlie’s Angels has shown up in spiritual journey
So…it’s obviously telling me that I am part of a group on earth who is connected to an angel in higher realms.
The same way the Charlie’s Angels are working for Charlie who is out of sight and speaks to them through a speaker (an electronic device). The fact I was contacted by an angel during my spiritual awakening which caused a huge clearing of trauma, is reflecting this idea of being connected to angels.
Also there are some Mary Magdalene syncs with this movie, because I was always the Drew Barrymore character when me and my friends would act out scenes from the movie and she has red hair. I had a red streak in my hair, but had dark blonde hair as a kid.
Drew Barrymore’s character also is in “love” with a man in red who drives a boat!
Yeah…so there’s that too.
4. The Nightmare Before Christmas
Why it was important to me as a kid
Similar to “The Little Mermaid”. The reason why I was drawn to this movie as a kid was because I literally wanted to “be” Sally. I didn’t really care about anything else in the movie.
I would take a wooden spoon from the kitchen and walk around with it, pretending I was her!! lol.
Why it is still important to me as an adult
So…I did watch this movie quite a lot as a kid, but not as much when I got older. It did however “follow me” unexpectedly in different ways.
I was offered a job to choreograph a stage production of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” around…7 years ago. But I took the job mainly because I liked choreographing musicals and wanted the experience, I would have said yes to any show, but it was interesting that it happened to be a production of Nightmare.
I also dressed up as Sally for Halloween one year, as an adult. So clearly…she is still on my mind lol!
How “Nightmare Before Christmas” has shown up in spiritual journey
In the beginning of my journey, I was sent the final scene from “Nightmare Before Christmas” by the first person who ever psychically activated me, meeting him was definitely the beginning of my spiritual journey.
To me, “Nightmare Before Christmas” actually touches on ALL elements of my spiritual awakening: the blue…the boat/pirates…Mary Magdalene…and angels!
There is a scene at the climax point of the movie where Jack is laying on an angel statue…which is pretty symbolic, I would say…
Also Sally has red hair and is blue-skinned (I talk more about the blue women sync in my journey here) and, like I already mentioned, this to me points to Mary Magdalene.
SO…
Next step: tying them together
Once you have your primary movies picked and you’ve noted all of the hidden easter eggs that match with your spiritual journey, now you need to find a common through-line.
For me, the biggest through-line was…the “ocean” 🌊.
All of these movies start and end in the ocean.
In “The Little Mermaid”, obviously it literally starts under the sea:
and then at the end, they go back into the sea on a boat.
In “Pirates of the Caribbean”…in the beginning, Jack obviously sails in from the sea:
and then goes back out in the end:
In Charlie’s Angels, in the first scene, they jump from a plane into a speed boat on the sea:
And the final scene shows them running back into it:
In the beginning of “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, we see Jack rising out of a pool of water:
This reminded me of how “Jack” Sparrow sailed in from the water as well. (I’m not even going to talk about Jack from Titanic, I decided to not include that movie but I talk about it in this video)
At the end, the two main characters, Jack and Sally, kiss in front of a full moon, standing in a pile of snow, the moon being associated with control of the tides (ocean):
So all of these movies kind of begin and end in the water.
In screenwriting, we always say that one of the most important parts of a movie is the “final image”. It kind of wraps everything up in a very symbolic way, so look at the final image of your films and find similarities between them.
Another through-line
In all my movies, the primary female character has “father issues”.
In “The Little Mermaid”, we know King Triton was holding Ariel back and didn’t want her to be with Eric.
In “Pirates of the Caribbean”, Elizabeth Swann’s father, the governor, didn’t want her to be with Will, who was a poor blacksmith. He wanted her to marry Commodore Norrington.
In “Charlie’s Angels”, Dylan never got to meet her father…apparently…
In Nightmare, Sally is held prisoner by a mad scientist who created her, a father you could say:
They all have some sort of “father wound”…
Overcoming the father wound, has been a huge theme in my spiritual journey. So that is an interesting sync as well.
Connect your symbols to a myth
So now, you’ll want to connect the symbols you’ve found to a myth.
Movies are based on myths anyway, so you might as well go to the source material and get your main message from there.
Here are the ways I’ve traced these movies back to a myth:
The red haired women clearly was pointing to Mary Magdalene for me. Most paintings of Mary Magdalene show her with long red hair.
The pirate/ship captain symbolism I thought may be pointing to Charon, the boatman of the River Styx.
You have to pay him 2 coins to get into the afterlife, they say…(the fact he’s collecting coins is also very “pirate” wouldn’t you say?)
Maybe this means that all those boat men I met were like, an initiation, like they were testing me and teaching me things. OR…it could mean my actual soulmate will be a boatman!? Or, that my soulmate will be a traveller “between worlds”, as Charon shuttled people into the afterlife. Not sure yet what it could mean…
Pirate/ship captain, could also be pointing to a literal spaceship captain. I have seen flashes of a Star Trek-like space captain in a blue spacesuit a few times in my mind’s eye and he’s looking right at me, eek!
The angel symbolism pointed to archangel Michael. I connected this because of all the blue syncs I’ve gotten on my journey and the reference to the ocean (blue).
The ocean could also mean “outer-space” as some people (me included) believe that we are actually floating in an ocean. Like outside of Earth’s bubble is pure water of a higher dimension.
I also feel the name “Jack” is significant, because it shows up in so many of the movies. But not sure what that’s trying to tell me.
So…do your research and try to find some matching myths!
Find the lesson
Now that you have your myths… look for references of these mythological characters in ancient texts and find out what they did or accomplished (don’t look in the more modern, revised texts).
In the older, Gnostic texts, Mary Magdalene achieved a sort of unity between her heart and womb. I’ve been led into womb healing over the past few months or so, and this is something Mary Magdalene was very focused on as well.
Also, according to Gnostic texts, Archangel Michael is a protector and defender of humans on their way back to the “Pleroma”. People of the “blue” energy stream also seem to be on the “frontlines” of the energetic red/blue war. Seeing that I’m blue, I could be connected to AA Michael in a more energetic sense?
The myth of Charon says that he carries souls into the afterlife. He’s in-between worlds. The idea of Charon is definitely pointing to astral travel (or that my soulmate will be some sort of shaman). I’ve been looking into controlled OBE practice. I have a feeling this will be a big piece of my spiritual journey.
Now you try…
1. What have been the biggest themes in your spiritual journey so far?
2. What were your favorite movies as a kid that you still are obsessed with today? (Or…that still are prominent in your life as an adult?). List them out.
3. Going through each movie…Why was it important to you as a kid? Why is it still important to you as an adult? What are the symbols in the movie that relate to your real life spiritual journey?
4. What is the “through line” of all these films. What’s one thing that links them all?
5. Taking each of your themes, including the though line theme, how can you relate it back to a myth from ancient times? Think about deities, ascended masters, gods/goddesses, mythological tales.
6. Now that you have your myths, research the characters/concepts in ancient texts. What is the lesson or message you can apply to your modern life?
Final words
Now…I’m not saying you should “believe” these messages you are being sent through these movies.
This is just a way to show you how “set up” your life actually is. Similar to astrology. You were destined to do something in your life and you left yourself easter eggs to make sure you stayed interested in certain things. That’s all.
